As an alumnus or former faculty mentor of a participant in the BRAVO! program at the University of Arizona, I know you will be excited to learn that we are relaunching BRAVO! and sending students abroad again beginning in Summer 2023!
About BRAVO!
From 1992 to 2015, under the leadership of Professor Carol Bender, BRAVO! enabled 247 UArizona undergraduates to conduct research in foreign countries where they forged significant relationships in the spirit of international scientific collaboration and diplomacy.
Thanks to generous donors, beginning in Summer 2023, BRAVO! will once again support UArizona undergraduates in 10- to 12-week summer research experiences abroad to expand their worldview, gain experience in working in a global environment and develop an appreciation for other cultures.
How Can You Help?
We are working to sustain the BRAVO! program for future students. Our crowdfund goal is to raise $8,000 by January 31, 2023 to fully fund one additional BRAVO! student to conduct research abroad in Summer 2024. From $15 to provide a meal for a BRAVO! student, to $1000 to cover international airfare, gifts of any size make a tangible impact, and they are all greatly appreciated! Any extra funds raised beyond our $8,000 goal will go toward supporting an additional BRAVO! student.

The 34th Annual UBRP Conference will be held in person at the UArizona main campus on Saturday, January 21, 2023 and will feature keynote speaker Dr. Aanika Balaji, a BRAVO! alumni and resident physician at Johns Hopkins University. We hope you can join us!
