The KEYS Internship Program A unique summer opportunity for motivated Arizona high school students with a strong interest in bioscience, engineering, environmental health, data science and biostatistics to work with top University of Arizona faculty on research projects that address the world's greatest challenges.
Students in this seven week intensive program work with top faculty in University of Arizona research labs, participate in innovative research projects and get the opportunity to present their findings to friends, family and the UA academic community.
Past interns have assisted in creating better ways to detect and treat diseases like Alzheimer’s, cancer, asthma and diabetes; explored the effects of contaminated water sources on populations and the environment; studied plants and animals to determine their impact on ecosystems; and analyzed the role genes play in individual human health.
It is our goal to continue impacting as many students as possible. We have grown the program from a cohort of nine KEYS interns in 2007 to over 50 interns annually. We now proudly count 576 Arizona high school students as KEYS alumni!
We are committed to continuing strategic growth, while always sustaining the experiential quality of the program which is why we need your help.
We are asking for 22 people, like you, to make a gift today in honor of our 2022 cohort and the work they are doing to change the world. Your gift will help sponsor students, including providing the necessary materials for their internship.
