This March, Honors Alternative Spring Break students will embark on a week-long trip to San Diego, CA. During the trip, students will focus on a variety of projects involving the ocean and wetlands ecosystems’ ecology, biology, and conservation. The students are very excited to be partnering with the Tijuana River National Estuarine Research Reserve, the San Diego Audubon Society, The Batiquitos Lagoon Foundation, and The Cabrillo National Monument.
Honors Alternative Spring Break (HASB) gives students the opportunity to travel during their UA spring break to a new community, where they work with a partner organization to accomplish specific goals and improve the local communities. This experience teaches students what it means to be an engaged and responsible citizen, which they find to be rewarding, eye-opening, and life-altering.
