Send Pine Reads Review Interns to BookExpo America
The Pine Reads Review Intern Staff spends countless hours throughout the year (even on holidays!) reviewing books, interviewing authors and illustrators, and writing blog content about the world of publishing. We are dedicated to showcasing new and diverse authors in the field of children’s and young adult literature. Additionally, we are committed to local outreach in our community. We’ve held book drives, hosted author events, partnered across campus (including multiple colleges, the College of Medicine, and the Libraries), and worked with K-12 writers.
We aspire to break into the publishing industry after graduation. Attending BookExpo America – the largest North American Book Trade Fair – will give us unparalleled insight and opportunities for our current internship coursework as well as for our future career endeavors.
How will your donation impact students?
This will be a formative experience on multiple levels. Publishing professionals of every type attend this fair – authors, editors, agents, book reviewers, publicists, marketers, designers. Participants will attend workshops, keynote addresses, and panel discussions.
As representatives of the University of Arizona and Pine Reads Review, students will meet and connect with numerous attendees, thereby creating contacts in the publishing industry for future written work, interviews, reviews (via collection of Advanced Reader Copy books). The work we do as student interns will increase our experience and build our professional resumes. Networking is key in the publishing industry and this event provides ample opportunity to meet a multitude of people, representing the many facets of the publishing industry.
Your gift today will make an impact on our hard working team, and help them create contacts and experiences that will set them up for success after graduation. Thank you for your support!
