This March, Honors Alternative Spring Break (HASB) students will embark on a week-long trip to Los Angeles, CA. During the trip, we will focus on food insecurity, homelessness, immigration and gang rehabilitation. We will visit LA-based social justice organizations such as Homeboy Industries, Union Rescue Mission, Love Without Reason (Lunch On Me), People Assisting the Homeless (PATH) and the Coalition for Humane Immigration Reform.
HASB gives students, like us, the opportunity to travel during our spring break to a new community, where we work with a partner organization to accomplish specific goals and improve the local communities. This experience teaches us what it means to be an engaged and responsible citizen, which We find to be rewarding, eye-opening and life-altering.

Building on our Success
This will be the sixth year HASB has spent time in L.A! We choose L.A. every year because of the amazing experience students have and the relationships that we continue to build.
