Project Description:

Did you know over 86% of UA students are on some form of financial aid and many of those students must rely student loans? That's why we created Scholarship Universe (SU), the University of Arizona's (UA) homegrown and multi-award winning web application that maximizes and streamlines funding opportunities for (UA) students.

• SU has integrated over 2,600 third-party scholarship opportunities, which offer approximately 10,000 potential awards, and nearly 1,000 internal scholarship opportunities to UA students annually, all in one website.
• This is completely novel for colleges, universities, and companies alike. No service at the UA is as capable of collecting and streamlining as many funding opportunities as SU.
• Because of SU’s effort to integrate the student scholarship experience with the needs of colleges and divisions, more UA funds are being awarded than ever before, benefiting students and fulfilling UA’s promise to its scholarship donors.

Help Scholarship Universe Continue Achieving Outstanding Results for Wildcats:

• The SU student site is heavily used – in 2015 there were 1.5 million page-views across 92,000 sessions from over 25,000 users. 
• In the 2014-2015 academic year, SU helped UA students receive roughly 2.5 million non-UA dollars from scholarships available within the site.
• SU is responsible for helping over six million internal dollars get awarded to UA students annually.
• Over 40 UA departments – spanning 18 UA colleges/divisions – manage their scholarships and related processes with the Scholarship Universe Departmental App (SUDA).
• SU has completely made some of the following processes more efficient, manageable, and in some cases, possible for UA departments: matching students, importing official student record data, creating and collecting applications, assisting online review committees, tracking awards, managing thank you letters, reporting, and more.
• SU innovation has saved millions of work-hours for students and departments. All UA students have access to SU, and with an upcoming email notification system and new UA Online degree programs, users are expected to increase.
