Thank you for supporting the Scholarship in memory of Allison.

March 21, 2019

We want to thank everyone who supported the recent crowdfunding for the Allison Feldman Memorial Study Abroad Scholarship at the University of Arizona. This scholarship owes its beginning to Monica Brown and Rob Stirling, fellow study abroad students in their Junior year with Allison for six months in Spain. This was a tremendous growing experience for the three of them and the other students who accompanied them on the trip. The scholarship will provide an experience to students who might otherwise not be able to afford the program and have a similar experience.

This year, $12,500 was generously donated. Added to previous gifts, the scholarship endowment now has over $43,000. This will allow the endowment to create additional scholarships in the future. Thanks again to all those who helped the scholarship endowment to grow this year!

Stretch Goal Achieved! Campaign ends this Friday.

March 13, 2019

Family and friends,

There is more good news for the Allison Memorial Study Abroad Scholarship. As of today, donations have exceeded our revised upward goal of $12,000!

Monica, Rob, Elayne and I are absolutely thrilled at how much support we have received. The endowed scholarship fund is now over $43,000. This will allow the fund to create additional scholarships providing financial support to UA students who might not otherwise be able to afford the Study Abroad program. Allison's study abroad to Spain, through which she grew up dramatically by her experiences, will be available to new students.

Thank you so much for your support! And please continue to share this project with those who knew Allison. Our campaign will be open until Friday, March 15.

Campaign Extended! Help us grow Allison's Scholarship.

February 28, 2019

Exciting Update! Because of your generosity, we have extended our crowdfunding campaign for one week to see if we can stretch ourselves and add $12,000 to Allison's Scholarship. We are so close!

If you can, please share our mission with those who knew Allison and may be interested in learning more about the scholarship and this year's recipient, Taylor, who is currently studying in Guatemala.

Thank you so much for your continued support!

Beautiful Memorial held for Allison at the UA Women's Plaza of Honor

February 25, 2019

A week ago, on what looked like what would be a dreary and wet day, the clouds broke ever so much for her family and friends to gather at the Women's Plaza of Honor to remember Allison. We were blessed to hear some wonderful remarks by her former Professor, Dr. Melissa Fitch, her mother and a beautiful poem by her father. The presence and support of the UA Foundation and the Office of Global Initiatives was overwhelming.

We'd also like to thank the Tucson media that came and reported on the event, including Tucson Channel 4 and the Arizona Daily Star. This wonderful support helps keep Allison's legacy and memory alive.

As a result of all of the tremendous generosity of everyone that has contributed, we are now at 90% of our goal of $10,000! There is just one week left to contribute to the scholarship in Allison's memory. In the words of her friend Christi, if  you "love and value traveling and learning about other cultures" this is a great way to remember Allison. Perhaps it can help place an ever present smile on another person's face, like the one Katie Wood (Ali's best friend) remembers about Ali.

Thank you so much,

Harley, Elayne, Rob and Monica

You're invited: Please join us this Friday, Feb. 15 to honor Allison on the UA Campus.

February 13, 2019

Please join Allison's family and friends this Friday at the Women’s Plaza of Honor (just west of Centennial Hall) on the University of Arizona campus to celebrate her life and the study abroad scholarship we created in her memory.

As her family and friends attest, a study abroad journey to Spain in 2004 drastically changed Allison. She came back a fluent Spanish speaker, more independent, and as her father Harley puts it, “she was no longer a young lady, but a confident, young, woman.”

LOCATION: Women’s Plaza of Honor, The University of Arizona

WHEN: Friday, February 15 from 10:30am to 11:30am

The most convenient public parking for this event is the Tyndall Avenue Garage, located at Euclid Avenue and Fourth Street, which is a four-minute walk from the Women's Plaza of Honor.
