Olivia began her journey at the University of Arizona in the of fall 2017. Four semesters later, she is preparing for her graduation form Project FOCUS by applying for employment and exploring the idea of living in an apartment with a roommate.
Olivia is a focused, responsible and thoughtful student and a reliable, hardworking intern. She rides SunVan to and from her home independently and is able to successfully manage her weekly college budget. Olivia would be a rare find on any University campus!

Over the past 4 semesters, Sam has matured into a confident, capable young woman who is activity in the local art community.
Sam defines herself as a Deaf Artist. She is a graduate of Arizona School for the Deaf, LifeSkills program. At first Sam was nervous about going to a hearing university, she spent her first semester observing and adjusting to her exciting new life as a UA Wildcat. By the Spring of 2018, Sam was making friends, thriving in her college courses and learning how to travel independently to her off campus internship at the Tucson Museum of Art (TMA).
Through the use of ASL interpreters, Certified Deaf Interpreters and teaching staff fluent in ASL, Sam's knowledge of art education, museums as community institutions and personal money management has grown significantly.
Sam has created an ASL guide for the docents at TMA in hopes that they will be able to better communicate with Deaf visitors. Sam also created an ARTivity for youth visitors related to deafness and hearing represented in art pieces on display. Sam is most proud of her teaching experience supporting young students in their weekly art lessons at TMA.
Sam has enjoyed and appreciated her Project FOCUS experience and is ready to take on her future!
Thank you for helping another student, like Sam, have access to Project FOCUS through your financial support.
Thank you,
