Anna Marie Chalk Memorial Endowment

Thank you to 213 individuals for giving $56,423 in memory of our mother, AMC.

Remembering Anna Marie Chalk

Anna Marie Chalk, also known as “AMC” or “Annie,” retired from the University of Arizona in 2003 after 23 years of service. During her time working at the Arizona Alumni Association, she was very involved with many groups. She was the co-advisor for the Bobcat Senior Honorary and instrumental in helping to create the UA Hispanic Alumni Club, Black Alumni Club, Native American Alumni Club and worked closely with Asian American Faculty Staff and Alumni. Since her retirement, she continued to serve on the Bobcat Alumni Advisory Council and worked with the Hispanic Alumni Club.

After reading many of the condolence messages, a few shining characteristics of our mother stood out: her ability to develop genuine relationships and her desire to help and engage with students! Growing up, we shared our mother with countless other young people from Bobcats to members of the Hispanic fraternities and sororities. We love that we shared her with so many people who called her “Mom” too. We even remember some of them coming out to support her and watch us play softball as young kids. She loved the role she played helping to mold young people’s lives with empathy, wisdom and pure motherly instinct. And as her daughters, many of those characteristics were instilled in us and we vow to continue that legacy.

We are both committing an estate gift to this endowment. The funds from this endowment will benefit students through Bobcats and Hispanic Alumni Club. The specific details of how these funds will be used will come later, but we know it will be about the students. Should you want to remember and honor our mother with a tax-deductible donation in lieu of flowers, please feel free to support the Anna Marie Chalk Endowment. Thank you on behalf of our entire family.
