Give Wonder and Imagination

Middle school students look at self portraits of children during COVID lockdownsWelcome to Worlds of Words Center’s first ever crowdfunding campaign!

The Worlds of Words Center is a place for exploration of global stories, which we share through multiple programmatic efforts including exhibits. With your gift today, we can continue to provide enriching exhibits that inspire wonder and imagination in people of all ages.

Worlds of Words Center exhibits create shared experiences for our community - from the planning, where we bring in local and international partners, to the execution and testing that requires input and feedback, to the launch and showing where volunteers including pre-service and retired teachers engage the public and create community conversations.

These exhibits are not only a source of wonder and imagination, but they also have a significant impact on the K-12 students who visit for field trips. They help students explore the world around them and inspire them to learn more about global literature and interact with original picturebook illustrations. Our exhibits have featured Code Talkers, international COVID self-portraits, maps (fictional and real), global images of peace and war, and even the importance of play.

Our goal is to raise $10,000 to fund our Fall and Spring exhibits. The cost of these exhibits includes purchasing original art, paying international customs on exclusive exhibits on loan from our partners abroad and all the supplies that go into the hands-on activities for our younger visitors. Take a look at our past exhibits to see the range of experiences we’ve offered: https://wowlit.org/events/exhibits/

Please donate and share our campaign today to help us fund a full year of exhibits that will bring joy and wonder to the community.

Thank you for your support!

$29

Activity Center

Each exhibit includes hands-on activity centers that include materials to paint or draw with, glue, scissors, paper, maps and artifacts with an average cost of $29.

$52

So much learning results in a productive mess! Our cleaning supplies add up to $52 and include microfiber cloths, multi-surface cleaner and hand sanitizer.

$116

$360

Text Set

Text sets are a collection of children's books on a theme that we curate for each exhibit, and each exhibit includes a minimum of two. Make a gift of $360 for the text sets.

$750

Shipping

We work with international partners on the exhibits and are often the first stop in the United States, which means we often have costs around customs and shipping. For $750 you can cover the shipping costs of an international exhibit.

$2,000

Original Illustration

The field trips are the fun part of our exhibits, and the art is the foundation. Help us expand our archives collection with high-quality illustrations from talented artists with a gift of $2,000.
