Hello and Welcome Friends, Family, Alumni of the UA Department of Environmental Science, Faculty, and whoever else stumbles upon our page!
We invite you to join us in celebrating ENViSion 2024 (formerly SWESx), which is part of The University of Arizona EarthWeek (March 18th-22nd, 2024). ENViSion 2024 is the UArizona Department of Environmental Science student-run research symposium. Our department will come together for live presentations and in-person poster discussions, from both undergraduate and graduate students, and an alumni and sponsor career panel discussion. We would like to invite you to join us, in person, for all the fun!
The main event for ENViSion activities takes place on Thursday, March 21st at the Environment and Natural Resources 2 (ENR2) building at the University of Arizona. Students in our department will compete with each other and with students from other Earth Science departments for awards for their live presentations and posters. This year alumni and community are invited to attend, to help judge the formal presentations and the poster presentations, and to participate on the career panel.
We would love to have you help fund ENViSion 2024. Your assistance brings legitimacy to the University’s research community, and it supports the work we do in the field of environmental science. Funding will be used for presentation cash prizes and the logistical costs of the event (poster printing, poster stands, lunch, etc.). Individuals who support this project can feel good knowing their donations go straight into making a successful and memorable event for students. Donation levels can be seen on the right of this page!
This year, we are trying something new and partnering with the UA crowdfunding group to raise money for the event! Our first fundraising push is from November 20th through December 6th. Interests in attendance, judging and/or participating in the career panel discussion can also be indicated on this page or by reaching out to one of the committee members.
Through the years, ENViSion has become the best forum from which to learn about the diversity of research activities in the UA Department of Environmental Science. It is a place for dedicated researchers to receive recognition for their contributions to the scientific community and it is a cornerstone event for our department. On behalf of the entire ENViSion team, we would like to sincerely thank you for your consideration in supporting ENViSion 2024.
