This March, Honors Alternative Spring Break students will embark on a week-long trip to Los Angeles, CA. During the trip, students will focus on food insecurity and homelessness with the St. Francis Center, which provides relief and support through their breakfast and pantry program as well as a wide range of other services. Students will also visit other LA-based social justice organizations, such as Homeboy Industries, Care Mission USA, Guardian Angels and Homeless Health Care Los Angeles.
Honors Alternative Spring Break (HASB) gives students the opportunity to travel during their UA spring break to a new community, where they work with a partner organization to accomplish specific goals and improve the local communities. This experience teaches students what it means to be an engaged and responsible citizen, which they find to be rewarding, eye-opening, and life-altering.
