Thank you so much to all our donors for helping us raise over two thousand dollars for our campaign! Your generous donations help us support our students as they depart today. As our students leave for Leipzig we will leave you with some words from one of our TA’s who attended last year:
“As a Ph.D. candidate in the German Studies Department, I had the opportunity to teach twice in our Summer Leipzig Program. From my experience, I can attest to how much of an impact this program has on students who participate, as it gives them a unique opportunity to learn the language, travel, and discover German culture. The program offers a perfect combination of academic and leisure activities. Our students take German classes while in Leipzig but also have ample time for travel and exploration.”

Danke!
Thank you to our amazing donors who have helped us reach a quarter of our goal so far! We are happy to announce that we will be extending the goal for this campaign by two weeks!
Study abroad programs leave students with experiences which will impact them for a lifetime. You can read about it in the following quotes from one of last years attendants:
“It’s been great getting to know German students who are the same age as us and improve our German. We’ve learned a lot about cultural and other differences between Germany and the US because of that.” (D. A.)
“I’ve been most impressed by the Völkerschlachtdenkmal. It’s really exciting to discover historical buildings that are older than the country I live in.” (D. A.)
Thank you to our donors who have helped us reach 20% of our goal so far! Thanks to donations like yours we are better able to open new doors to and to introduce our diverse students to a new culture. Here is what one student had to say about how the Leipzig program did this for him:
“My family is originally from Mexico – we’re part of the working class. Because of this, I never imagined that I might get to see so much of the world. The Summer Study in Leipzig program offered me a unique opportunity for me to get to know Germany and a culture that quite differs a lot from the one I grew up with.”

In celebration of the Arizona Summer Study in Leipzig program’s 21st year.
Students spend the month of June – 30 days – in Leipzig, with excursions to the medieval town of Wernigerode and day trips to Dresden and Erfurt.
Since 2003, four hundred (400) students have participated in the program.
Founded in 1409, Leipzig University is Germany’s second oldest university and with more than 29,000 students, it is the largest in Saxony.
