Have you started your countdown yet?

April 17, 2017

Graduation is right around the corner. Have you started your countdown yet?

As you close out the school year and your time at U of A, remember the lessons you’ve learned as a Wildcat.

You’ve learned about your unique strengths, your hidden talents, your dearest friends, and your tremendous potential.

And maybe along the way, you also encountered some your toughest challenges.

Thousands of Wildcats are right behind you learning the same things.

The CAPS class gift campaign might be ending soon, but there’s still time to leave your legacy and show that Wildcats care.

Give the gift of CAPS to Wildcats who are facing their own tough challenges on their way to discovering their tremendous potential.

Wildcats help Wildcats succeed. Bear Down!

UA Graduation Bucket List - Check It Out!

April 11, 2017

Commencement is just four weeks away. Don't forget to take some time to check off items on your UA Graduation Bucket List. You sure don't want to miss out on making a few more memories.

Before you head out of here - we want to thank you for your donation to the 2017 Class Gift and paying it forward to the next generations of Wildcats. Your generosity will help make accessible critical Counseling and Psych services to students who need them. Now that is a true Bear Down tradition!

A thousand times, THANKS!

April 10, 2017

I can no other answer make, but, thanks, and thanks. – William Shakespeare

Thank you, Wildcats! Your generous donations will help so many students get through the ups and downs of college. CAPS is here to serve all Wildcats, and you’ve made that even more possible with your class gift contribution.

Wildcats Care, and This Proves It

April 03, 2017

Thanks so much for all of the class gift contributions!

So far, you’ve donated $2,293.00 to help other students get the counseling and psychiatric services they need.

That’s INCREDIBLE and shows just how much Wildcats care!

When you give to CAPS this spring for your class gift, you’re helping other students just like you get help for problems like depression, anxiety, relationship problems, academic problems, alcohol and drug problems, and all of the other difficult situations that interfere with school.

You have a big heart, Wildcat. Thanks for sharing it with your fellow students.

Send this message to the other graduating seniors you know to remind them how much Wildcats care.

Bear Down!

Time to Start Talking About It

March 27, 2017

Ever have those times when you thought everyone else had it together but you?

You felt like you were the only one not having the “college experience,” not succeeding beyond your wildest dreams, not figuring out the rest of your life…and maybe it was hard to talk about it.

Well, it’s time to start.

CAPS asked students about their top concerns, and here’s what they had to say:

Over 50% of students we surveyed said they had either depression or anxiety, and 86% said that personal problems were interfering with school.

It’s time to talk about mental health in college.

Your well-being doesn’t get put on hold while you’re in school. Depression, anxiety, and other concerns are very real and make school that much harder.

That’s where CAPS and your class gift come in.

99% of the students we asked said that CAPS was critically important, and 97% would recommend CAPS to a friend.

Sounds great, right? Well, yes….and no. The truth is that not everyone can afford to come in and get the help they need.

When you make a class gift to support CAPS, you’ll help a fellow student get the help they need to get through those personal problems and succeed in school.

When we all start talking about it, we all succeed.

Buy Your Cap and Give the Gift of CAPS

March 20, 2017

Getting to graduation is a huge accomplishment – personally and academically.

As you celebrate the big wins this spring, also take a moment to reflect on the challenges you faced along the way.

How did you get through them?

Maybe you got help from a friend, family member, or came to CAPS.

Thousands of students come through CAPS every year for counseling and psychiatric services. CAPS is the place where you can talk about motivation problems, fears about the future, break-ups, test anxiety, parent issues, body image, depression, anxiety – just about any problem you can think of.

CAPS is here to help, but for some Wildcats, even $25 for an appointment is more than they can afford.

When you buy your cap (and gown) for graduation, you can help a Wildcat get to where you are now with the gift of CAPS.

Give the gift of CAPS and help other Wildcats succeed!

Giving Back - It's a Wildcat Thing!

March 13, 2017

Did you know that 78% of our undergraduate student body made a charitable gift last year? Wildcats care about the community and about each other.

The UA Class Gift Program is built on the foundation of Wildcats supporting Wildcats. Class of 2017 - the power of our numbers and our gifts, no matter the size, will leave a lasting legacy for current and future students.

Skip one small luxury every year, and your gift can "pay it forward" to help another student succeed at UA. Bear Down!

Toss your cap this spring, and give the gift of CAPS. (Wilbur will thank you!)

March 09, 2017

The light is at the end of the tunnel…you’re actually graduating!

You’ve made it through the ups and downs of college. The all-nighters, the big wins, the drama, the best friends, the uncertainties, and the excitement about what comes next. What a ride.

Researchers are beginning to study what you already know to be true: college students have significantly more stress than the average person.  That means that all of the stress you felt during those ups and downs was the real deal.

It doesn’t only feel bad to go through all of that. According to the American College Health Association, stress is the most commonly named obstacle to academic performance. (But you probably already knew that, too.)

You’ve made it through the college journey, but so many other students are still in it, and they need support! With your class gift, you could help fund counseling and psychiatric services to your fellow Wildcats in the middle of that roller coaster that is college.

Toss your cap this spring, and give the gift of CAPS.

Your fellow Wildcats (and Wilbur) thank you.

A huge thanks to our first donors!

February 27, 2017

Thanks to the Wildcats who got us started on our campaign! Your generosity will help a fellow Wildcat get the support they need.
