Help UA Cycling Get to Nationals!
Nine of us qualified for nationals in Grand Junction, Colorado which will be held at the end of April and we need your support to take advantage of this amazing opportunity. We will use your gifts for our race entry fees, lodging and meals to make the trip to Colorado with the best team possible!
Last year, thanks to your support, we raised over $3,500 dollars during our first ever crowdfunding campaign. This allowed all of our qualified riders to go to nationals in Asheville, NC where Erica Clevenger placed 5th in the road race! This year, our goal is to raise $3,000 for the trip. It helps that Nationals this year is being held closer to Tucson so our expenses will be lower.
Attending a national championship can be a life changing experience for a developing rider. For Nikita, Pearl, and Castle this will be their first nationals! Racing in a national championship is an experience which can inspire riders to be lifelong cyclists and to strive to be the best student-athlete possible. This is our team’s chance to show why we are one of the best cycling teams in the country and you can help get us there! Will you help by making a gift today?

We’ve assembled a team with incredible depth and talent! Six men and three women will represent the University of Arizona in Grand Junction. Our roster:

A $20 gift provides a full day of meals for one rider (36 needed). You’ll receive: a thank you letter plus your name listed on the website and e-mail updates.
/məˈkanik/ noun / Definition in English: In cycling, the mechanic is the unsung hero of the team. Steeped with mechanical knowledge and prepared with every tool under the sun, the mechanic works long hours to keep the racer's machines in top shape. A $40 gift buys a rider’s tune up (9 needed). You’ll receive: the above, plus a signed team photo.
/dɔ.mɛs.tik/ noun / Definition in English: the domestique is the loyal teammate- willing to sacrifice their own success for the good of the team. A $73 gift covers one rider's entry fee. The more we have in a race, the better we can support our team leaders! (16 needed- 9 in the road race; 7 in the crit). You’ll receive: all the above, plus an invite to join the team for coffee to hear about the race.
/diʁɛktœʁ spɔʁ.tif/ noun / Definition in English: The directeur sportif (sports director) coordinates all aspects of the team- travel, lodging, and race tactics. The directors make the team run like a well-oiled machine. $150 covers one night of lodging (3 needed). You’ll receive: all the above, plus an invite to dinner with the team.
Definition in English: The team superstar is who the domestiques ride in support of and they are the one with the best chances of winning the race. $300 will get us halfway to Grand Junction with gas and rental fees (4 needed)! You’ll receive: all the above, plus an invite to join the team on a group ride.
