¿Qué Significa?
This summer, our New Start students will be asking themselves “¿Qué significa?” or “What is my significance in the world?”
The New Start Summer Program provides an opportunity for incoming freshman to take classes, work with peer leaders, and engage in various academic and extracurricular programs to make their transition to the UA successful. One of the key parts of New Start is our two day Academic Conference, where selected students present their original research around the theme of “¿Qué significa?” Students will be encouraged to find the meaning of the theme from their own lives and research its effect on their community and in the world.
What is the significance of New Start to you?
Your support will provide scholarships to the winning conference presenters to be awarded for this Fall! Awards are given for the top presentations on Innovation, Research and Analysis. Last year, thanks to generous supporters like you and a match from the Dorrance Scholarships Program, we were able to provide our nine Academic Conference winners with $1,000 scholarships. Can we count on you to make a significant gift to support New Start? That gift will once again be matched by the Dorrance Scholarships Program!
