Melanoma Monday-First Monday of the month
The aim of Melanoma Monday is to raise awareness about this deadly disease. Melanoma is an aggressive form of skin cancer that when left untreated can spread rapidly to other areas of the body. Melanoma can be deadly if it is not found and treated in the early stages.
Don’t Fry Day- Friday before Memorial Day
To help reduce rising rates of skin cancer caused by overexposure to the ultraviolet (UV) rays of the sun and tanning beds, the National Council on Skin Cancer Prevention has designated the Friday before Memorial Day as “Don’t Fry Day” to encourage sun safety awareness and to remind everyone to protect their skin while enjoying the outdoors.
