Eat Dessert First Day began in 2015 in honor of Dana Morgan. Known to many as “Dananator” because of her champion spirit and contagious energy, she was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia at the tender age of four. This day honors Dana’s palpable enthusiasm for life, her appreciation for the fun that comes from doing the unexpected, and the tremendous importance she placed on spending time with family and friends.
While inspired by Dana, Eat Dessert First Day is in honor of all childhood cancer warriors and the parents who go to bed each night praying that research will find treatments that enable their precious children to survive and thrive.
Please help us hit our goal of $15,000 for pediatric cancer research! Since our first Eat Dessert First Day two years ago, we have raised $15,000 for the Steele Children's Research Center. Can we count on you to make an even bigger impact this year?
If you’re eating dessert first in honor of Dana, she would have turned 13 this year. Please consider a donation of $13 or more!
This year, the Steele Children’s Research Center celebrates 25 years of conducting groundbreaking research on many pediatric illnesses, including pediatric cancer.
In Tucson and Southern Arizona, around 65 children are diagnosed with some form of cancer, each year.
If 150 of you each gave $100, we would reach our goal of $15,000 for pediatric cancer research. Can we count on you?
Every single day, one child in our state of Arizona is diagnosed with cancer, that is 365 children and families a year! Please help us fund better treatments for our children!
