Dear SEA Supporters,
Thank you so much for being a supporter of Summer Engineering Academy (SEA) 2018! You really made an impact in the lives of the students that attended our camp. Your work supports the collaborative effort that encourages one or several students that engineering is the right career choice for them. We believe it is so important to have bright and motivated students in engineering to help solve our world’s current and future problems.
I’m excited to share some data from SEA 2018 with you to contextualize the impact of your efforts:
We hope that you will join us in 2019 to make a difference in future engineer’s lives.
To keep up with our current and future SEA happenings, like us on Facebook @UOFASEA or Instagram @summerengineeringacademy.

Big news!
We are thrilled to report that we have met our original goal of $4,000 for Summer Engineering Academy scholarships! To all of our donors and supporters so far - THANK YOU. These gifts mean even more knowing that the impact is doubled due to the matching $4,000 gift and grant.
However, we're not done yet. We have 4 days left to go - and every dollar counts. Further donations received will mean even more scholarships for students in need. Help us make this the best summer yet for Summer Engineering and for our campers.
Please consider sharing with your networks in the final days of the campaign. We look forward to sending our final update!

We are only 29% shy of our goal. Thank you so much for your donations. Your donation will make a huge difference in students lives (like Jamie and Clare)!

With 18 days to go and 42% of our goal already met, we are very excited about the profound impact you have helped make in the lives of many high school students. If we received $128 per day, we would meet our goal of $4,000 to provide scholarships for teens. Can you help us by spreading the word? Share this link on your social media and with your friends and family. You obviously see this as a worthwhile program and we are sure that others that you know will as well.
Thank you for your support!

During Week 3: Engineering and Sustainability, our campers get to tour San Xavier Mine, which is a underground mining laboratory.
Hi everyone! I am so very excited that we have already reached 40% of our $4,000 goal by April 15! Thank you so much to the 27 donors who have kicked off this campaign to such a strong start.
Here at the College of Engineering Academic Affairs Office, we are working on getting students registered for one of our six camps and hiring our amazing staff for this summer! So far, we have more than 75 students fully registered to come spend a week with us over the summer. On top of that, we have extended offers to all of the undergraduate students that will work as counselors during the summer. They are all eager to get trained and begin working with students in a few months and I am eager to start working on making this camp memorable!
Last year, I worked for Summer Engineering Academy as the administrator, and am so excited to take on this new challenge and responsibility of being the head counselor! We have made some changes to our camps this year to continue improving and keep students engaged in engineering. One of my favorite activities will be featuring NeuroBytes, an approach to understand how neurons stimulate the body. Another one of my favorite activities is traveling down to the San Xavier Underground Mining Lab to teach campers all about Mining & Geological Engineering. These are just two examples of the many cool and interactive activities and field trips that are part of SEA.
I am so happy and thankful to be on our leadership team for the 2018 Summer Engineering Academy and cannot stress enough how much this scholarship fund will help increase the STEM educational pipeline! Let’s keep the momentum going!
