The University of Arizona's Office of Early Academic Outreach is proud to be celebrating The College Academy for Parents’ 15th year of serving families to develop a college plan for their elementary school children. It is projected that by this year’s graduation ceremony, 870 families will have been served, engaging 1,268 parents and having had an impact on 2,706 K-12 students!
Research on the program has resulted in best practices that should be continued and expanded. You have the opportunity to serve as a change maker by investing in a program that seeks to impact the college-going plans of families and understanding that there is a potential generational impact. If we can get a first-generation student to enroll and graduate from college, that student’s future family is far more likely to continue college enrollment.
We urge you to join us today in making this generational impact by giving at the level that is comfortable for you. Our goal is to raise $5,000 through this initiative. We are fortunate to have a donor family, Mike, Rae Ann and Jessica Morgan, that will match your gifts up to our goal of $5,000, which means every dollar you give will be doubled! These funds will ultimately aid the program's sustainability and provide program enhancements to further engage families as they create their college plan for their children.

Each family commits to attend 24 hours of workshops to build upon their existing college knowledge as they interact with UA faculty, staff and students.
Helps to employ a UA student for one week as a College Camp Leader. In total, 11 students work for 12 weeks with the elementary school students in College Camp.
Provides 10 families an interaction with a famous author AND each family leaves with at least 5 books to add to their home library. This experience is provided for all participating families.
Each year, the College Academy for Parents has 100 families commit to complete the program with the intent to create a college-plan for their elementary school-aged children.
Brings one school bus of families to the UA for a campus visit! Sixty percent of families report that this is the first time they have been to campus. Each year, the program requires 3 to 4 buses for each of the 2 campus visits.
